How did your passion for menswear start?
Not having cool clothes when I was a kid certainly has played a part in my interest in menswear. I think I really began to get into men’s fashion when I found American workwear was starting to make a comeback. I felt like I couldn’t pull off a polished look like you see in GQ magazine, but I could maybe pull off the lumberjack with a tie look. Since getting more involved in different IG communities, my love for men’s fashion has broadened. I’m starting to branch out beyond denim and just workwear.
What are your goals as an influencer?
To have fun. To get better at photography. Maybe help some gents along the way up their fashion game in small ways. I guess if my influence allows me to help others in my community, I’m always down for that. I guess the main thing is to have fun.
Describe your outfit.
In most of the pictures, I’m wearing denim. I love raw selvage denim from Shockoe atelier, Rogue Territory, LVC and 3sixteen. I like pairing denim with a nice dress shirt, vest, and tie. If I can also manage to wear something vintage, that’s a plus. The vest I’m wearing is a Filson hunting vest. The jackets I’m wearing in several of the pics are an actual 1960s Lee Denim jacket and a Levis Vintage Clothing 1967 Type 3 Trucker Jacket. If I can and I usually do, I wear boots with all my outfits.
Describe your personal style.
Office rugged. I work in healthcare and meet lots of clients and other healthcare professionals, so it’s important that I look like I know what I’m talking about. In the past, my job required me to be in some dirty situations and then go be in office meetings all day. Combining denim and dress wear allowed me to do both. So, I guess my style was really born out of functionality.
Random fun fact about you.
I collect comic books.
