How’d your passion for menswear start?
I don’t know if I can pinpoint an exact beginning. It’s kinda like Steve Rogers. Deep down he always knew he was Captain America. He just didn’t have the skills, the body, or the shield to convince everyone else he was. Superheroes and style go hand in hand, accessories are the key.
For me, I’ve been dressing up since I was a little kid, but it wasn’t until I could buy my own clothes that I realized how much I love them. FYI, I still don’t have the body and I’m still looking for a shield.
What are your goals as an influencer?
I’ve never really thought of myself as an influencer. If I had to offer inspiration, I guess it would be to not take yourself or your style TOO seriously. No accessory can magically make you smooth, suave, and debonair, otherwise we’d all be GQ models. But when you have the right accessories that match your style and personality, then at least you can feel like a GQ model.
How would you describe your personal style?
My style? It’s that old school hop with that new school hip. No no, wait…I think those are DJ Kool’s lyrics.
Since what I wear is unique to how I feel each day the only word I can think of is eclectic. Do I get bonus points for using a big word?
Explain your outfit:
It’s springtime but it’s cold outside. I wanted this outfit to reflect that. So I went with this classic silk tie with a twist. The twist being these awesome hibiscus flowers. Spring accounted for. Next is this very professor-ly birds eye tweed blazer. Cold weather accounted for. Last but not least, my fancy pin dot pants. I knew this was the first time everyone would see my pants. So I wanted everyone to think I wore fancy pants all the time. Thus I have dubbed this outfit “Professor Springtime Fancy Pants.”
Random fun fact:
Random fun fact? Smearing a small amount of dog feces on an insect bite will relieve the itching and swelling…wait, is this supposed to be a random fun fact about me? Here I am going on about dog feces. About me…let me see here…I wrote and illustrated a comic book with my 6-year-old nephew called “The Adventures of Seaworm and the Hammer.” It’s awesome.
